Scott joined Head Coach Sean Henning's staff prior to the start of the 2016 season. He comes to Biola after entering into retirement from full-time work. Tipton's primary responsibility will be to work with the pole vaulters.
Tipton is an alumni from CSU Fullerton where he earned his BS in 1979. He is married to Carla Tipton, who works at Biola as the Assistant Director of Campus Visits. The pair has two children, Marissa and Jessica Rose, who are both graduates from Biola.
He ran track and played football in high shool and was his track & field team captain.
Tipton came out of retirement to join Henning's staff because he "felt called." When he's not coaching he enjoys his retirement by fishing and camping.
