Biola University Athletics

Jackie Mata enjoyed a successful golf career of playing for Biola from 2011-14 and joined the coaching staff in fall of 2014. Graduating from Biola with a B.A. in communications Mata assumed the role of assistant coach.  

Jackie enjoys sharing her positive experience as a player-captain and student athlete with recruits and their parents. She chose to join the coaching staff at Biola because, "Biola is an amazing community centered on Christ. When our team travels we enjoy a devotional the morning before every competition.  This team tradition produces ever-lasting memories…”  

Jackie is an assistant golf professional at Goose Creek Golf Club. She is working her way through the LPGA apprentice program to obtain her LPGA teaching credential.  Mata’s plan is to specialize in providing golf instruction to women and juniors, the future of the game.  In addition to her assistant pro duties, Jackie is a teaching instructor at the Lorena Ochoa Golf Academy, located in Mira Loma CA.  

When not coaching or teaching golf; Mata enjoys spending time at the beach with family and friends, fellowship at her church, and playing with her dog Christian. Jackie’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 55:22.
