Jason Hitchens joined the Biola Cross Country and Track & Field coaching staff in the fall of 2015 as an assistant of sprints, hurdles and relays under Head Coach Sean Henning.

He joins the coaching staff after experience as a student-athlete in the Golden State Athletic Conference and years of experience as a high school head coach and local college assistant.

Most recently he was the assistant coach at Whittier College from 2014 to 2015. Before that he split time as head coach at Calvin Christian High School and West Torrance High School from 2008-13.

Hitchens’ career as a collegiate athlete came at Point Loma from 2000-03. He was the team MVP for the Crusaders in 2003. Hitchens also got competitive experience with the South Bay Track Club in 2006.

He earned his B.A. in Kinesiology from Point Loma in 2004, and he added a M.A. in Coaching and Athletic Administration in 2014.

Hitchens is also the coach and director of the Biola Spoken Word Club.

He and his wife, Lily, were married in 2009. They have two children together (Nathaniel and Israel) and reside in Long Beach, California.
