PERSONAL
  • Born on August 14, 2006 to Kendra and Jonathan Bengelink
  • Has two older brothers, Philip and Jakob
  • Mother, Kendra, competed in collegiate soccer, basketball, and track & field—3x All-American in javelin and Calvin University javelin record holder; both brothers competed in collegiate track & field
  • Enjoys cubing and kendama
  • Majoring in Engineering Physics and hopes to grow academically, spiritually, and athletically while finding his role on the Biola Men’s Water Polo team
  • Favorite Bible Verse: Job 16:19
  • Reason Why I Chose Biola: “I chose Biola so that I could develop myself in a faith-based environment to hone my water polo skills, learn about engineering, and make friends.”
HIGH SCHOOL
  • Graduated from Bellevue Christian School in 2025
  • Four-year varsity athlete for the Vikings
  • Competed in water polo through Interlake High School; set multiple single-season scoring records (87 goals in 2021; 104 in 2022; 115 in 2023; 124 in 2024) and holds the Interlake career goals record (430)
  • Helped teams to multiple state championship appearances, including first-ever qualification in 2022 and three consecutive Division 1 state finishes (2022–2024)
  • Four-time All-League selection (Division 2 First Team in 2021–2022; Division 1 First Team in 2023–2024) and three-time All-State Honorable Mention (2022–2024)
  • Earned multiple academic department awards in math, visual arts, physical education, and physics
  • Also competed in swim and track & field; State Championship qualifier in swim relays and multi-year league champion/State placer in javelin, including 2025 State runner-up with a school-record throw of 201'9" (30th in nation; 9th at USATF U20 Nationals)
