Anthony Pizzo

Anthony Pizzo joined the Biola Cross Country and Track & Field coaching staff in the fall of 2015 as an assistant distance/middle distance coach for Head Coach Sean Henning.
 
“I’m thrilled to be at Biola because it is a place that I can help lead athletes in the joy of walking with Christ and competing at the highest of levels with Him always in their hearts,” said Pizzo.

During his first season under coach Henning Pizzo helped lead Biola's women's cross country team to a Golden State Athletic Conference championship. He also worked with Kellian Hunt to help her win the 2015 NAIA Cross Country National Championship.
 
He joins the Biola staff with a wealth of experience in the NAIA and Golden State Athletic Conference having competed at and graduated from The Master’s College. He ran cross country for the Mustangs from 2009-12 and was a part of the TMC track & field team from 2010-12.
 
Pizzo was a three-time NAIA All-American in cross country, with his best finish coming in 2011 when he finished fifth in the nation. He also added four All-GSAC honors for his cross country efforts, including a runner-up finish in 2011.
 
In track & field Pizzo earned All-American status in the 5,000m run. He also added two all-conference finishes in that same event with a 5,000m personal-best of 14:03.
 
During his time at The Master’s College the Mustangs won three team conference championships in cross country and competed at the NAIA national meet three times.
 
Following his graduation from The Master’s College Pizzo went to Canyon High School as an assistant cross country and track & field coach. He helped coach the team to two CIF Finals appearances and led the men’s team to two track & field league championships.
 
Pizzo holds a B.S. in Business Administration. In addition to his duties as coach at Biola Pizzo works as a Trading Assistant at Select Portfolio Management.
 
He and his wife, Erika, were married in 2010 and have one child together (Zoe).
