BIOLA UNIVERSITY MEN'S BASKETBALL PA ANNOUNCER
Biola University's Athletic Department is hiring a Public Address Announcer for Men's Basketball games beginning with the 2008-09 season. This is a paid postion with compensation determined upon hire. The PA Announcer's duties including announcing the strarting lineups, all game action, public address announcements, presentations, contests and other duties as assigned. The PA Announcer is the main voice for Biola Men's Basketball and works closely with the Sports Information Director to help create a fan-friendly and entertaining experience at Chase Gymnasium.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong vocal talent
- A unique and definitive personality
- Ability to attend ALL home Biola men's basketball games (including interterm) and arrive one hour prior to the start of each game
- Strong knowledge of college basketball including rules and positions; specific knowledge of Biola basketball a plus
- Comfortable announcing to crowds of 500-2,500 people on a microphone
- Comfortable announcing complex names from a variety of ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate
- Receptive to both positive and negative feedback
- Ability to multi-task in a stressful environment
- Experience working as a PA Announcer in collegiate sports, in television, or radio perferred, but not required

There will be an open tryout for the position on Monday, Nov. 24, from 5:45 - 6:30 p.m. in Chase Gymnasium.
