Four Eagles Earn D2CCA All-West Region Honors

Lillianna Garcia, Kendall Nakano, Jackie Ibarra and DJ Symons were named D2CCA All-West Region.

LA MIRADA---The Biola softball team continued its historic 2026 campaign with four Eagles earning Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region honors. Lillianna Garcia and Kendall Nakano were named to the First Team, while Jackie Ibarra and DJ Symons earned Second Team recognition. Biola's four all-region selections were the second-most of any program in the West Region.

Nakano added another accolade to her standout sophomore season after also earning First Team All-West Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). The PacWest Player of the Year was a First Team All-PacWest selection and one of the top offensive players in the conference throughout the season.

During the regular season, Nakano ranked second in the PacWest in batting average (.411), hits (69) and on-base percentage (.463), while also ranking fourth in RBIs (48), sixth in OPS (1.034) and slugging percentage (.571), and eighth in home runs (6). She added nine doubles and earned PacWest Player of the Week honors along with DII West Coast Challenge All-Tournament Team recognition.

Defensively, BU's starting first baseman anchored the Eagles' infield with 287 putouts and 24 assists while committing just two errors for a .994 fielding percentage. Nakano also ranked among the PacWest leaders in putouts and double plays turned.

Garcia earned D2CCA First Team All-Region honors at designated player after putting together one of the most productive offensive seasons in the conference. The PacWest Newcomer of the Year led the conference in OPS (1.088) and RBIs (49), while ranking second in slugging percentage (.677), second in sacrifice flies, third in home runs (10) and third in doubles (13). 

During the regular season, the junior slugger batted .331 with 41 hits and posted a .411 on-base percentage during her first season as an Eagle. Garcia also earned First Team All-PacWest honors and was a PacWest Player of the Week.

Ibarra collected her second all-region honor of the postseason after also being named an NFCA Second Team All-West Region selection. During the regular season, the junior outfielder led the PacWest with 74 hits while ranking third in batting average (.383) and eighth in runs scored (38).

A First Team All-PacWest selection, Ibarra started all 54 games for the Eagles and recorded a .405 on-base percentage with a .799 OPS. She also went a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.

Defensively, the Eagles' starting left fielder tallied 82 putouts and three assists with just one error for a .988 fielding percentage.

Symons also earned her second all-region recognition after being selected to both the D2CCA and NFCA Second Teams. The senior right-hander was named the PacWest Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-PacWest after leading the conference in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched and saves.

A two-time PacWest Pitcher of the Week selection, Symons posted a 2.40 ERA with a 15-13 overall record across 38 appearances and 24 starts. She logged 169.0 innings pitched with 125 strikeouts while recording 17 complete games, four shutouts and five saves. Opponents hit just .240 against the senior throughout the season.
