2026 NFCA West Region

Three Eagles Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

Kendall Nakano, Jackie Ibarra and DJ Symons were named NFCA All-Region.

LA MIRADA ---The Biola softball team had three Eagles earn All-West Region recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Kendall Nakano earned First Team All-West Region honors, while Jackie Ibarra and DJ Symons were named to the Second Team.

Nakano added another accolade to her standout season after being named the PacWest Player of the Year and a First Team All-PacWest selection. The sophomore ranked among the PacWest leaders in multiple offensive categories, finishing second in batting average, hits and on-base percentage while also ranking fourth in RBIs, sixth in OPS and slugging percentage, and eighth in home runs. She was also named PacWest Player of the Week and earned DII West Coast Challenge All-Tournament Team honors.

In the regular season, Nakano batted .411 with 69 hits, including nine doubles and six home runs, while driving in 48 RBIs and posting a 1.034 OPS. She added a .463 on-base percentage and a .571 slugging percentage across 52 starts for the Eagles.

Defensively, Nakano was one of the top first basemen in the conference, registering 287 putouts and 24 assists with just two errors for a .994 fielding percentage. She also helped anchor a Biola defense that ranked among the PacWest leaders in double plays.

Ibarra, a Second Team All-West Region selection and Second Team All-PacWest honoree, was one of the top hitters in the conference throughout the season. The junior led the PacWest in hits while ranking third in batting average and eighth in runs scored.

In the regular season, Ibarra batted .383 with 74 total hits, including two doubles, while scoring 38 runs and driving in 14 RBIs. She also posted a .799 OPS with a .405 on-base percentage and .394 slugging percentage. On the basepaths, Ibarra was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.

Defensively, the outfielder started all 54 games for the Eagles and recorded 82 putouts with three assists and just one error for a .988 fielding percentage.

Symons, the PacWest Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-PacWest selection, earned Second Team All-West Region honors after establishing herself as one of the top pitchers in the conference. The senior led the PacWest in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched and saves while also ranking third in opposing batting average and fifth in ERA. She was also a two-time PacWest Pitcher of the Week selection.

Symons posted a 2.40 ERA in the regular season with a 15-13 record across 38 appearances and 24 starts. She logged 169.0 innings pitched and recorded 125 strikeouts while tallying 17 complete games, including four shutouts, and five saves. Opponents were held to a .240 batting average against the right-hander during the season.
