Eagles Stack Field Marks at Bryan Clay Invitational

Shamblin’s runner-up finish leads Biola’s split-squad showing across throws, jumps, and sprints

AZUSA, Calif. --- The Biola track and field team competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Saturday.

In the invitational javelin, Colby Shamblin delivered one of the top performances of the weekend, placing second with a throw of 63.07 meters. The Eagles also saw success in the open javelin, where Elias Voris placed fourth with a toss of 50.12 meters, posting a strong showing.

Across the remaining field events, Biola stacked marks throughout large flights. In the men's shot put, Kaiden Gonzales cracked the top 10 with a throw of 14.98 meters, while Logan Thompson recorded a mark of 13.30 meters. Gonzales also competed in the discus, posting a throw of 41.67 meters, alongside Thompson's 38.99-meter effort.

On the women's side, Hope Willis led the discus group with a throw of 43.78 meters, while Norah De Young (39.90m) and Leah Gilmore (38.19m) added solid marks. Laura Brennan recorded a throw of 12.22 meters in the shot put.

Autumn Murray (5.51m) and Eboselulu Omofoma (5.57m) represented Biola in the women's long jump, while Marco Smith posted a mark of 6.61 meters on the men's side.

On the track, Steven Cuevas competed in the open sections of both sprint events, running 10.95 in the 100 meters and 22.4 in the 200 meters to round out the weekend for the Eagles.

Biola will set their sights on the PacWest Championships beginning April 24th in San Diego.
