Biola Battles Ranked CSUEB

The Biola Eagles lost 6-0 to nationally-ranked No. 17 Cal State East Bay.

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif.---The Biola softball team lost 6-0 to nationally-ranked No. 17 Cal State East Bay at the Rosetta Canyon Park.

The Eagles held off the nationally-ranked Pioneers until the sixth inning. Kayla Bousquette threw a great five innings against Cal State East Bay. The Senior threw three 1-2-3 innings and struck out three. Bousquette only allowed CSUEB two hits and three runs that scored in the sixth.

DJ Symons came into relief in the sixth and threw the last out of the inning. One more run scored off a fielding error from center.

The Pioneers had another big offensive inning in the seventh, scoring three more runs to extend their lead to 6-0. After four hits and two scored runs, Lillianna Garcia relieved Symons and closed the inning. The third run of the inning scored off a fielding error from the outfield. 

Biola recorded six hits against Cal State East Bay. Ibarra led her team on offense, going 2-for-4. Lizzie Byer, Alexa Medley Sheard, Kennadie Tsue and Leilani Salgado also had a hit.

Biola plays next on Monday, Feb. 9 at 12 and 2 p.m. against Southern Oregon at Freedom Field.
