February 23, 2026

WALNUT, Calif. — Two Eagles hit the road on Thursday and Friday to compete in the multi-events hosted by Mt. San Antonio College at the Ron Kamaka Combined Events meet.

Jack Carlson represented men's track & field with a third-place finish in the men's decathlon (5,328), while Carlota Romay Rega returned to her previous school and placed third in the women's heptathlon (4,056).

In both cases, the Eagles representatives were only out-paced by one NCAA Division II participant (Cal Poly Pomona). Also, in both cases, the score was a collegiate-best effort for the student-athletes. It was Carlson's first time completing the decathlon in a collegiate meet.

Javelin and the running events were the top performances for Carlson. He won the 400m and finished on the podium in the 100m, 1,500m and javelin. His winning time in the 400m was a 51-flat. He notched a 45.13m toss in the javelin to finish third and add 517 points to his total.

Romay Rega went :15.66 to win the 100m hurdles and she also won the high jump by clearing 1.61m. That was a faster 100m hurdles time than she managed at the state championships while competing for Mt. SAC last year. The hurdle mark matched her mark from states.

Up next for Biola Track & Field is competition at the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Rossi Relays this Saturday.
