Opening 2026 at Westmont Warrior Relays

The Biola Eagles opened their 2026 season at the Westmont Warrior Relays.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.---The Biola track & field teams opened up their 2026 seasons at the Westmont Warrior Relays.

The Eagles competed in 19 events and achieved 13 podium finishes, including five event winners. 

Eboselulu Omofoma set a school record in the 60m hurdles and led Biola with three podium finishes. Quinn Shavey, Joshua Widdows and Amelia Trautman earned podium finishes in two events.

Omofoma, Shavey and Widdows were a part of the mixed 4x400 relay team that placed first of 11 teams with a time of 3:32.15 (along with Hannah Hanson). Omofoma was the only Biola athlete to record two first place finishes, as a member of the mixed relay and individually in the women's 60m hurdles - where she broke her own school record with a new personal best time of 8.67. Omofoma also placed second in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.23m.


Shavey and Widdows additional podium finishes were in the 60m dash and the 60m hurdles. Shavey placed second in the men's 60m with a time of 6.97 and Widdows finished third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.21.

Trautman, Reese Eckard and Maria Vidal Poy also won events at the Westmont Warrior Relays. Trautman in the women's 600m run (1:38.45), Eckard in the women's high jump (1.55m) and Vidal Poy in the women's long jump (5.23m and a personal best).

Additional individual podium finishes came from Matthew Kaloustian in the men's 150m (16.3), Gracie Heath in the women's 600m (1:40.21), Elizabeth Casey in the women's high jump (1.55m), Katie Thompson in the women's long jump (4.92m) and Nina Navarette in the women's triple jump (10.59m).

Biola's B team, composed of Jack Sapyta, Trautman, Carlota Romay Rega and Brayden Watson, finished second in the mixed 4x400 relay with a time of 3:41.85.

Both the men's and women's teams finished the meet third of seven teams. The men recorded 74 points and the women tallied 75.

The Eagles compete next at the Rossi Relays on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College.
