Trevor Campbell Story

Biola Men’s Water Polo Welcomes Campbell

Trevor Campbell named to Men’s Water Polo Staff

January 12, 2026

LA MIRADA --- Biola Athletics is proud to welcome Trevor Campbell as the Lead Assistant Coach to Biola men's water polo team.

"I am grateful and excited to be bringing Coach Trevor on board our coaching staff. He was my assistant coach for nearly 3 years at Westlake high school and was a key part to building that program to DI status," stated head coach, Jens Cole. "Coach Trevor is an authentically good person. He is one of the most genuine people I know, has such a resilient story, cares about what he does in his craft of coaching, and is uniquely gifted at connecting to people that he is helping be the best versions of themselves. "

Campbell has an extensive resume as both a coach and student-athlete. As a competitor, he played for California Baptist University (2017), later transferring to Ventura College (2018-19), and completing his playing career at California Lutheran University (2020-21).

While at Ventura, he earned First Team All–Western State Conference honors, an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection, and Athlete of the Week recognition. With CLU, he helped the Kingsmen achieve the most wins in a single season in program history with a 22-win campaign in 2021.

His coaching experience spreads across the high school, club and national levels. He served as an assistant girls water polo coach at Agoura High School from 2019–22 before joining Coach Jens' staff at Westlake High School from 2022–24, helping the boys program reach Division I status. He later became head coach for Agoura High School boys water polo and swim from 2024–26. At the club and national levels, Campbell coached with South Coast Aquatics from 2019–25 and has served with USA Water Polo's Olympic Development Program since 2023, where he currently leads the ODP Coastal Zone Development Boys.

"The moment I realized that I wanted to be a head coach collegiately, I knew in the back of my mind that Coach Trevor needed to be an assistant coach hire if I had the opportunity. He understands, and will add to, the vision I have for the program, and knows what it takes to grow to elite levels."

A graduate of Agoura High School, Campbell was a multi-sport athlete, competing in both water polo, coached by current Princeton men's water polo head coach Dustin Litvak, and swimming while lettering academically in sports medicine. Outside of coaching, he enjoys surfing and staying active. His favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5–6. On choosing Biola, Campbell shared, "Biola is a faith-based institution with a strong reputation for both academic and athletic excellence."

"His Christian faith is an integral guiding light in his life and leaning into his walk is a priority for him. Biola University and Biola Athletics will be an excellent place for him to integrate his athletic knowledge and coaching excellence with his faith. I wouldn't give my vote to any coach that I didn't truly believe could and would make a big impact on our players as athletes and as people. We're trying to put Biola Men's Water Polo on the map and quite frankly, in my humble opinion this is a huge step in that direction."
