Trevor Campbell joined the Biola Eagles athletics staff ahead of the 2026 season, serving as the program’s lead assistant coach.
Originally from Westlake Village, California, Campbell brings an extensive background in water polo and swimming as both a student-athlete and coach at the high school, club, and national development levels. His experience spans player development, elite competition, and faith-centered leadership.
Campbell competed collegiately across multiple institutions, beginning his career at California Baptist University as a redshirt in 2017 before continuing at Ventura College in 2018 and 2019. While at Ventura, he earned First Team All–Western State Conference honors, an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection, and Athlete of the Week recognition. He later completed his collegiate playing career at California Lutheran University from 2020–21, helping the Kingsmen achieve the most wins in a single season in program history with a 22-win campaign in 2021.
Prior to Biola, Campbell built a strong coaching résumé across Southern California. He served as an assistant girls water polo coach at Agoura High School from 2019–22, followed by assistant coaching roles on Coach Jens' staff with the boys program at Westlake High School from 2022–24, helping the program achieve DI status. He then stepped into head coaching roles for Agoura High School boys water polo and swim from 2024–26. At the club level, Campbell coached with South Coast Aquatics from 2019–25 and continues to serve as a coach within USA Water Polo’s Olympic Development Program, beginning in 2023. He currently leads the ODP Coastal Zone Development Boys program as head coach.
Campbell has been part of numerous championship-level teams throughout his coaching career. He assisted or served as head coach for nine league championship titles and four runner-up league finishes. With South Coast Aquatics, he helped guide multiple teams to Top-20 finishes at the Junior Olympics, including one as head coach. In 2025, Campbell led the ODP Coastal Zone Development Red Team to a national championship. He was also recognized with the 2024 Ted Newland Award for his coaching contributions within the Coastal Zone.
A graduate of Agoura High School, Campbell was a multi-sport athlete, competing in both water polo, coached by current Princeton men's water polo head coach Dustin Litvak, and swimming while lettering academically in sports medicine. Outside of coaching, he enjoys surfing and staying active. His favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5–6. On choosing Biola, Campbell shared, “Biola is a faith-based institution with a strong reputation for both academic and athletic excellence.”
