Biola Overpowers OUAZ

BU began Sunday with a strong showing, picking up a victory for win number two in 2025.

US AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. --- Biola Men's Water Polo continued its weekend with a dominant 18–12 victory over Ottawa University Arizona (OUAZ) on Sunday morning at the Cadet Natatorium. A balanced attack and a disruptive defensive performance propelled the Eagles to their second win of the season.

After surrendering the game's first two goals, Biola responded with six unanswered scores to close the first quarter with a commanding 6–2 lead. Nick Murray and Gavin McKenzie led the early surge, while Caleb Hernandez and Adam Lavoy each added key goals in the run.

Murray completed a hat trick by early in the second quarter, pacing the Eagles to a 9–8 halftime lead despite a late push from OUAZ's Tamas Misky and Nolan Cinquemani.
Biola found another gear in the third quarter, outscoring OUAZ 5–2 with a relentless two-way effort. Lavoy added his second goal on a powerplay, while Kevin Slack, Colton Brown, and McKenzie each found the back of the net. McKenzie finished the day with four goals on seven shots, and added two steals and two drawn exclusions.

The fourth quarter was punctuated by a scoring spree from Ryan Previch, who netted three consecutive goals in under three minutes to put the game out of reach. McKenzie added a final strike to secure the win.

In addition to McKenzie's standout outing, Nick Murray was stout with three goals. Ryan Previch delivered a game-changing fourth-quarter performance with three goals and one assist. Adam Lavoy added two goals, one assist, and two steals.

In the cage, Mason Pellens anchored the defense with seven saves and six steals, helping hold OUAZ to zero goals on nine powerplay attempts.

Biola (2–1) will finally play the host squad RV Air Force, later in the afternoon on Sunday at 1:20 pm PT.
