LA MIRADA---The Biola track and field teams had 10 athletes receive Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators.

To be eligible for the CSC's Academic All-District honor, athletes must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50. Eligibility was based on TFRRS regional performance rankings at the time of nomination, track athletes needed to be top 50 in the region to qualify in a single event. Cross country runners had to have a top 50 individual performance at the 2024 NCAA Regional. 

Biola's female selections were Bethany Mapes, Lynette Ruiz, Maggie Williams, Hannah Hanson and Autumn Murray.

Mapes and Ruiz were chosen as CSC Academic All-America finalists and will move on to the national ballot. Academic All-American honorees will be announced July 16, 2025.

Mapes ended her junior year with a 3.71 GPA in her bachelor's in allied health. Mapes was top 50 in the West Region in three track events and placed seventh at the NCAA Cross Country West Regional. Additionally, Mapes was First Team All-PacWest in cross country, All-PacWest in the 5000 and USTFCCCA All-Region in the 1500 and 5000. Mapes advanced to the NCAA DII Outdoor T&F Championships in the 1500 where she placed 19th in the provisional round.

Ruiz graduated in 2025 with a 3.71 GPA in her bachelor's in allied health. Ruiz was top 50 in the West Region in the 10k and 5000m and placed eighth at the NCAA Cross Country West Regional. Ruiz finished 74th at the Cross Country National Championships. Additionally, Ruiz was First Team All-PacWest in cross country, won the 10k at the PacWest Championships and was USTFCCCA All-Region in the 10k.

Williams finished her junior year with a 3.78 GPA in her bachelor's of business administration. Williams ranked third in the West Region in the 800m, earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the event, and qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 800.

Hanson was top 50 in the West Region in three events. Her highest ranking was eighth in the 100 hurdles. Hanson ended her sophomore year with a 4.0 GPA in her accounting major.

Murray completed her junior year with a 3.55 GPA in her bachelor's of nursing. Murray was in the top 50 of the West Region in four events. Her highest ranking was 14th in the long jump where she was also All-PacWest.

BU's male selections were Jack Ferrence, A.J. Antonio, Jack Sapyta, Jake Sorani and Caleb Pook.

Ferrence finished his senior season with a 3.66 GPA in his bachelor's of computer science. Ferrence was top 50 All-Region in four events. His best ranking was 10th in the West Region in decathlon. Ferrence also won the decathlon at the PacWest Championships.

Antonio graduated with a 3.66 GPA in business administration and was 6th in the West Region in the high jump and 12th-best in the West Region in the long jump. Antonio was also All-PacWest in the high jump.

Sapyta ended his junior year with a 3.96 in his bachelor's of accounting and was 27th in the West Region in the 400m run.

Sorani finished the year with a 3.88 GPA in his bachelor's of psychology and was 50th in the West Region in the 800m run.

Pook capped his junior year with a 3.85 GPA in his bachelor's in biology and was 42nd in the region in the 110m hurdles.
