Widdows ended his freshman year with 11 top 10 finishes, five of which were podium finishes and three were first place finishes. He competed in three events at the PacWest Championships, the 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles and 4x100, and qualified for nationals in the 400m hurdles.

"Josh had a fantastic freshman year, Coach Johnson did a great job building him and Ebi up in the hurdles," shared Henning. "Unfortunately, an injury affected the last month of his season, but that doesn't take away from all the great things that happened. He is also such a great young man to have in the program and contributes tremendously to the culture of this team."
