Medley Knocks in Game-Winner, BU Advances

Alexa Medley drove in the game winning run in the Biola softball team’s 4-3 victory over Saint Martin’s.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.---Alexa Medley drove in the game winning run in the Biola softball team's 4-3 victory over Saint Martin's.

The Eagles were tied 3-3 with the Saints in the bottom of the sixth. With one out, back-to-back singles by Kennadie Tsue and Bridgette Trujillo gave BU runners on first and second. Medley came up to bat with two outs and singled to left field which scored Tsue from second.

BU's first two runs were scored in the second inning courtesy of a Saint Martin's error. Raquel Reyes singled to lead off the inning and was pushed to second from a Tsue sacrifice bunt. Trujillo then singled which gave Biola runners on first and third. Reyes and Trujillo were scored in Leilani Salgado's at-bat from a Saints' throwing error.

DJ Symons started the game in the circle for Biola and threw 3.2 innings where she allowed five hits and two runs to score. Reyes came into pitch in the fourth inning and closed the game out for BU. She allowed Saint Martin's two hits and one run to score.
