The Biola women’s golf team is headed out to Amarillo, Texas to compete in the NCAA Division II West Regional at the Tacosa Golf Club.

LA MIRADA---The Biola women's golf team is headed out to Amarillo, Texas to compete in the NCAA Division II West Regional at the Tacosa Golf Club.

The Eagles begin the first round of West Regional on Monday, May 5th at 10 a.m. CT (8 a.m. PT). The second round will take place on Tuesday, May 6th and the third will conclude on Wednesday, May 7th.

Biola, the 2025 PacWest Champions, is competing at West Regionals for the second-consecutive year. BU also enters the regional as the 30th-best team in the nation and the 9th-best in the West Region, according to Clippd.

"As we head to regionals this week we are committed to what got us here," stated head coach Dr. Jane Carr. "Our players have looked at every shot, every hole, every round as an opportunity. They are focused on the process, not the outcome. They are playing with a lot of heart."

The Eagles line-up for the West Regional is Karis Haltom, Rachel Shaw, Theresa Shaw, Claire Shubin and Melanie Reyes. Hailey Hays is travelling with the team as an alternate.

Haltom is coming fresh off her individual victory at the PacWest Championships where she scored two-above-par 218 from three rounds. She also achieved her personal best round of four-under-par 68 in the second round of the conference championships. Haltom has averaged 79.50 this season from 22 rounds.

Rachel Shaw has played 24 rounds this season and averaged 77.13. Shaw has had two top 10 finishes this year, her best finish being tied for fourth at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic with a two-round score of two-under 142. Shaw achieved her personal best round of three-under-par 69 at the Palm Valley Classic.

Theresa Shaw competed in 29 rounds and averaged 76 this season. She has four top 10 finishes of the 12 tournaments. Her best finish was sixth at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic with a two-round score of one-under 143. Shaw achieved her personal best round of three-under-par 69 in the third round of the NCAA National Preview.

Shubin leads Biola with an average of 75.45 from 12 tournaments and 29 rounds. She has had seven top 10 finishes and four top five. Her best finish of the year was third at the Jack Brown Memorial where she scored nine-above-par 153. Shubin recorded her personal best round of four-under-par 68 at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic.

Reyes has a season average of 76 from 29 rounds and 12 tournaments. The Senior has had four top 10 finishes, two top five and one first place finish. Reyes won the Westminster Wasatch Invitational with a two-round score of one-above-par 145. She achieved her personal best round of three-under-par 69 at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout. 

Hays played in six tournaments, 13 rounds and averaged 79.54 this season. Her lowest round of the year was 74 in the second round of the RJGA Palm Valley Classic. Hays' highest finish was 11th at the Jack Brown Memorial.

All six Eagles are ranked by Clippd, Shubin is No. 90, Reyes is No. 142, Theresa Shaw is No. 168, Rachel Shaw is No. 244, Hays is No. 334 and Haltom is No. 337.
