SAN FRANCISCO, Calif---The Biola track & field team had nine athletes competing in the 10k on the first day of the Mike Fanelli Track Classic.

Ryan Todd,
Joshua Klausmeier,
Zachary Wallace,
Edgar Ortega,
Aislin Taylor,
Ellie Stetina,
Karis Brown and
Lolo Landrith ran in the men's and women's 10k.
Von Molendorff had an exceptional performance in the 10,000m run. The Junior, who competed in the 10k for the first time, broke a school record and earned a NCAA Provisional mark.
Von Molendorff was the first Division II athlete to finish in the event, placing fifth with a quick time of 29:44.53. Von Molendorff's time is the fastest in the PacWest Conference and eighth in the DII.
"I'm super proud of him [von Molendorff] and all his efforts," stated head coach Sean Henning. "He has put in a lot of work to get to this point and he really raced hard and put it all out there to glorify the Lord and his efforts."
Trailing von Molendorff was Todd (27th, 31:05.52), Klausmeier (29th, 31:17.10), Wallace (68th, 33:56.43) and Ortega (70th, 34:10.08). Klausmeier, a freshman, set his personal best time in the 10k, running the event for the first time in his career. Additionally, Ortega ran in the 10,000m for his first time as a Biola Eagle.
Taylor led Biola's women in the 10k, placing eighth with a personal best time of 36:55.41. Behind Taylor was Stetina (22nd, 38:29.81), Brown (23rd, 38:30.39) and Landrith (31st, 41:12.52).
BU will divide and conquer tomorrow Friday, April 4. The Eagles are set to compete at the Triton Invitational in San Diego, CA, continue the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco, CA, and begin the Stanford Invite in Palo Alto, CA.
