It was a Good Friday

Biola swept the day on Good Friday, taking game two against FPU, 10-5.

LA MIRADA --- A Friday doubleheader meant two wins for the Biola Eagles (20-21, 17-17 PacWest). The team hosted Fresno Pacific (19-26, 14-24 PacWest)  and capped off the afternoon doubleheader with a 10-5 win to move to 20 wins for 2025.

Biola was quickly back to its impressive offensive day with a big rally in the second inning of game two. Ty Cowley reached base with a walk, which brought up Luke Caruso. Caruso took the ball deep to left field for a two RBI round-tripper.

With two outs, the second inning at bat continued for BU. Three hits with two down tacked on two more runs with RBI hits from Nick Madole and Noah Ruiz, opening up a 4-0 lead.

FPU responded with two in the top of the third but Biola would outdo the visitors in the bottom of the frame.

Back-to-back outs opened the third inning for the BU bats but the team rallied. Two singles and a walk loaded the bases for Josh McAninch. The catcher stepped in and delivered with a double down the left field line that would score all three base runners. Madole walked in the next at bat, before Ruiz launched the ball to the fence for a standup, two RBI double.

McAninch was feasting on the open space down the left field line, logging three doubles in three at bats to start Friday's game two. He went on to finish the day with three hits, three RBI, and three runs scored.

Biola added one run in the fifth to boast a 10-5 lead that would hold through the last out.

Luke Ballantyne got the start and tossed 4.2 innings for the Eagles. The lefty logged his third win of the season with two strikeouts.

Kyle Osterhage brought the game home with the final seven outs. The senior did not allow a run of his own in relief, while striking out three.

The Eagles will return to Eagles Diamond on Saturday for another doubleheader against the Sunbirds beginning at 12:00 pm.
