Picking Up Momentum at Pomona-Pitzer

The Biola track & field teams competed in 31 events at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. A.J. Antonio led BU with two podium finishes.

CLAREMONT, Calif.--- The Biola track & field teams competed in 31 events at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. 

The Eagles had six podium finishes. A.J. Antonio collected two of Biola's five podium finishes. He finished second in the long jump with a personal best mark of 7.13m and  third in the high jump (2.00m). BU won three events including the women's 4x100 relay, women's high jump and women's long jump.

Priscilla Jones, Audrey Mousa, Kailey Centers and Caden Hunter won the 4x100 with a time of 47.41. Ebose Omofoma tied for first in the high jump with a mark of 1.60m. Autumn Murray was the winner of the long jump with her personal best mark of 5.69m. 

Norah DeYoung placed second in the discus with a personal best throw of 40.85m.

The Eagles achieved 29 personal bests. Autumn Murray led BU with three personal bests. Autumn Murray PR'd  in the 100 hurdles (15.22),  long jump (5.69m) and triple jump (11.11m). Two Eagles collected PR'd in two events: Cody Bondy in the 110m hurdles (20.56) and pole vault (3.10m) and Omofoma in the 200 (25.04) and triple jump (11.47m).

Four of Biola's six runners in the men's 200m dash set personal bests. Tyler Poltl led the group with a 16th place finish and a personal best time of 22.38. Preston Archer (22.51, 20th), Jack Carlson (30th, 22.82) and Angelo Legaspe (23.77) also PR'd in the event. Richie Davenport matched his personal best time of 22.58 in the 200.

The following Eagles also earned personal bests: Rouxan le Roux (men's 1500, 3:56.29), Dominic Castro (men's 100, 11.07), Richard Davenport (men's 100, 11.17), Micah Jones (men's 800, 2:01.61), Emily Jensen (women's 800, 2:20.51), Joshua Widdows (men's 400, 48.46), Shelby Rutledge (men's 400H, 1:00.81), Jaden Murray (400H, 1:09.12), Kailey Centers (women's 200, 25.6), Hannah Hanson (women's 200, 25.77), Marco Smith (men's long jump, 6.86m) and Mark Sizelove (men's javelin, 42.29m). Laura Brennan matched her personal best mark of 36.17m in the discus.

Biola's remaining event leaders were Caleb Pook in the 110m hurdles (16th, 16.48), Autumn Murray in the 100 hurdles (5th, 15.22), Aidan Tomasini in the men's 1500m run (4th, 3:49.38), Jaina Kang in the women's 1500 (14th, 4:45.40), Donovan Tommy in the men's 100 (9th, 10.8), Ariana Quintana in the women's 100 (28th, 13.05), Widdows in the men's 400 (48.46), Ben Sonneland in the men's 800m run (14th, 1:55.82), Jensen in the 800 (17th, 2:20.51), Joaquin Ramirez in the men's 400m hurdles (7th, 55.05), Jaden Murray in the women's 400 hurdles (7th, 1:09.12), Omofoma in the 200 (7th, 25.04), Jeremiah Echeverria in the men's 3000 steeplechase (5th, 9:50.40), Karis Brown in the women's 3000 steeplechase (11th, 12:05.02), Keira Coye in the women's 5000 (24th, 20:11.87), Reanna Maroon in the women's pole vault (5th, 3.65m), Hope Willis in the women's hammer thow (8th, 42.28m), Jaida Warrick in women's javelin (9th, 32.23m), Brennan in the women's shot put (4th, 12.03m), Scotty Cousins in the men's shot put (14th, 12.71m), Aidan Erickson in the men's pole vault (9th, 4.30m), Bondy in the men's discus (26th, 36.03m), Omofoma in the triple jump (5th, 11.47m) and Mark Sizelove in the men's javelin (17th, 42.29m).

Next up for the track & field teams is the Bryan Clay Invitational which begins Wednesday, April 16th.
