LA MIRADA---The Biola softball team took nationally-ranked No. 21 Concordia University Irvine to extra innings, but would ultimately fall 5-4 to the Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles scored first in the first inning, but Biola would come back to take the lead with three runs in the second.

Raquel Reyes got the inning started for the Eagles with a lead-off single and was pushed over to second during Makayla Jordan's at-bat. With one out, Mikala Huskey singled which gave BU runners on first and third.

Kennadie Tsue executed a squeeze bunt which tied up the game for Biola (1-1). Bridgette Trujillo came up next and clutched up with a stand-up double that cleared the bases (3-1).

CUI chipped away at the Eagles lead until it was stolen back. The Golden Eagles cashed in a run in the third inning and two in the fourth which gave them a 4-3 advantage.

After a scoreless fifth inning, Kendall Nakano evened out the score for BU with a solo homer toward right center (4-4). Nakano's game-tying home run was her ninth of the season.

Neither team was able to make their way onto the scoreboard in the seventh inning which sent both teams to extra innings.

CUI managed to push a run across in the eighth, that despite a great effort, would go unanswered by the Eagles.
