LA MIRADA --- Biola Swimming and Diving capped off the regular season last week with a dual meet at Fresno Pacific and two Eagles were recognized for how they finished. Samuel Slezak earned the PCSC Male Swimmer of the Week Honor and Malia Ciolli was recognized as the PCSC Female Freshman Swimmer of the Week.

Slezak picked up his first weekly honor from the conference, after transferring into Biola at the start of the year. The junior impressed in just his second appearance of the season, after dealing with the loss of his father in the fall.

Slezak's incredible perseverance shined in the long distance freestyle events at Fresno Pacific, claiming the top spot in the 1000 free and second place in the 500 free. In his breakout meet, Slezak logged the best time in the 1000 in the whole conference this year, along with the second-best time in the conference for the 500.

Ciolli repeated as the PCSC Female Freshman Swimmer of the Week with another strong showing in the breaststroke. The young talent beat her previous best mark in the 200 breaststroke, touching the wall at 2:22.92 and finishing first place in the event.

Ciolli is a part of BU women's squad that sits just outside of the CSCAA Top-25, having received votes in the latest national poll.

The Eagles are now preparing for the start of their postseason on Wednesday at the PCSC Conference Championships.
