BU Fights to the End

The Biola women’s golf team had a strong finish to the Pioneer Shootout.

ALAMEDA, Calif.---The Biola women's golf team had a strong finish to the Pioneer Shootout. The Eagles' A Team finished the invite tied for fourth of 19 teams with a combined score of 16-above-par 592 and Biola's B Team ended the invitational 14th with a combined score of 635.

The Eagles' A and B team finished ahead of two of the PacWest Conference teams in attendance (Point Loma and Dominican). BU's A Team was the highest ranked PacWest team, finishing ahead of Jessup, ART U and Hawaii Pacific as well.

BU, nationally-ranked No. 43 by Clippd, tied with nationally-ranked No. 24 Simon Fraser and surpassed #41 Colorado St-Pueblo.

Biola's A Team was led by Claire Shubin in round two. Shubin moved up the leaderboard with her second round score of 72. Rachel Shaw and Theresa Shaw were neck-and neck, both recording four-above-par 76 in their second rounds. Melanie Reyes carded 77 and Abigale Morris carded 81.

Shubin finished fourth on the leaderboard with her scorecard of par (144). Reyes also finished in the top 10, placing seventh (+2). Rachel Shaw and Theresa Shaw tied for 25th (+7) and Morris tied for 54th (+13).

Laura Ortiz paced the Eagles' B Team in the second round with a score of five-above-par 77. Karis Haltom and Hailey Hays recorded +8, Sofia Ingle went +10 and Emily Cons finished +11.

Haltom led the B Team on the leaderboard, placing 47th (155, +11). Haltom was followed by Ortiz (T54, 157, +13), Hays (T54, 157, +13), Ingle (T85, 166, +22) and Cons (94th, 170, +26).

Next up for the Biola women's golf team is the Fujikura Invitational from March 10-11th in San Marcos, California.
