Mixing It Up

Biola Women's Cross Country runs its first 6k in a smooth morning in Clarement.

October 04, 2025

Claremont, Calif. — Biola Cross Country got an early start to it's Saturday with its third meet weekend of the season taking place at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in nearby Claremont.

The women's team entered just four runners in the meet so they did not register a team time and place, while the men's contingent managed to record a ninth-place effort to land in the top half of the field.

Grace Regan paced the Biola women's team in its first 6k of the young 2025 season. The freshman recorded a 23:40.7 to finish 71st out of 222 finishers. Regan is trending upward, setting a 5k season best last meet and now leading the effort in this one.

On the men's side, the top runner was also a first-year Eagle. Brayden Lunetta completed the 8k course in 26:35.9 to finish 51st of 223 finishers in the men's race. That is his second-best 8k time of the year, just behind the 26:00 he ran at the Biola Invitational.

Lunetta and Zach Wallace were running together throughout and finished back-to-back. For Wallace, his ending time was 26:36.4, a new season-best. Carter Hawley (27:01.4), Jake Sorani (27:15.0) and Alec Fabery (27.24.0) rounded out the scoring five for the BU men.

In the women's race the BU running order ended up with Caitlin Chea in 119th (24:41.7), Isabella Bravo in 138th (25:11.8) and Miranda Zakhar in 147th (25:24.3).

Up next for Biola is its most important regular-season meet, the Lewis Crossover. The Eagles will meet up with some of the best teams in the country and region next Saturday (Oct. 11) in Illinois. Last season Biola's men placed fifth and women eighth in fields of 30+ teams at the crossover.
