LA MIRADA---Bethany Mapes and the Biola women's cross country team won both PacWest Runner and Team of the Week for the second time this season. This is BU's third time earning Team of the Week from the PacWest.

Mapes and the Eagles were honored for their historic performances at the Lewis Invitational in Illinois. 

In her final appearance at the Lewis Invite, Mapes delivered her best finish yet—placing sixth overall in the top-level race with a time of 21:30 over the 6-kilometer course. 

With Mapes leading the way, Biola achieved its highest-ever team finish at the Lewis Invitational. BU placed third out of 36 teams, tallying  180 team points. They only trailed first place Chico State (100) and second place host Lewis (140). 

Biola's third-place finish allowed the Eagles to place in front of seven schools currently ranked top-30 in NCAA Division II. The standouts that placed behind BU include No. 10 Walsh and No. 11 Fort Lewis. 

All five Biola scorers finished inside of the top-52 in a field of nearly 350 runners. They were one of just two teams with five inside the top 50 or so. Rounding out Biola's scoring five were Maddie Ebright (35th, 22:16.51), Jaina Kang (38th, 22:20.57), Elizabeth Kurtz (52nd, 22:30.62), and Hailey Wurzbach (53rd, 22:30.66).
