LA MIRADA—The Biola cross country teams are excited to host the Biola Invitational tomorrow Friday, September 13th at Ted Regional Park.

The Eagles have been hosting the Biola Invite since 2016 and it has become an important tradition for head coach Sean Henning and the Biola Cross Country programs. Henning elaborated, "It was important to me to start a meet that was local, one that we could draw our community to and the Biola Invitational is a nice way for us to officially kick off the year."

The men will be the first to race, getting started at 8:45 am and the women will follow with a 9:30 am start time.

When asked about their teams' approach the Biola Invite this year, Henning explained, "This year is a little different with us having three meets in a row. The goal is to run a controlled but harder pace for the first half of the race and then we are going to try to close well the last mile or two miles, depending on the gender that's racing and push at the end."

Sixteen teams will be participating in the Biola Invite including: Cal Lutheran, Cal State LA, Canyons, Fullerton, Los Angeles Mission, Orange Coast, Point Loma, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Ana, Santiago Canyon, Soka, Southern Nevada, Southwestern, The Master's and Vanguard.

This is Biola's second meet of the season. The Eagles began the year at CUI's PacWest Preview in Irvine, California. 

When Henning was asked about his thoughts after the PacWest Preview, he explained, "I was very encouraged. On the men's side, we had a lot of groups working together really well. It was great to see them stay together and lock in. Same thing on the women's side. Our girls were locked in and running together."
