Eagles Clash Against Sea Lions

The women’s tennis team took some singles wins in their 5-2 loss to nationally-ranked No. 23 Point Loma at the PLNU Tennis Courts.

SAN DIEGO, Calif.---The Biola women's tennis team took some singles wins in their 5-2 loss to nationally-ranked No. 23 Point Loma at the PLNU Tennis Courts.

Biola recorded singles wins on the first and fifth courts. Nationally-ranked No. 56 Colbeyshae Emery took down No. 45 Amanda Letzring. Emery defeated Letzring 6-4, 6-2 on the first court.

Alexandria Mann out-lasted PLNU's Anna Pallencaoe on the fifth court. Mann lost her first set to Pallencaoe 7-5 and fought back to sweep her 6-3, 6-4 in the last two sets. 

Point Loma worked ahead with the doubles point and took singles wins on courts 2, 3, 4 and 6.

Isabella Chavarria battled on the sixth court, eventually losing to her opponent in three sets. The Freshman won her first set 6-4 and lost the final two 6-2, 6-4.

The Eagles (12-8 overall) play next on Monday, Apr. 8 against Fresno Pacific at 2 p.m. at the Haak Tennis Complex.
