Throwers Take Center Stage at Chris Rinne Twilight

The Biola track & field teams' throwers opened up the two-day Chris Rinne Twilight Invitational at the UC Riverside Track Facility.

RIVERSIDE, Calif.---The Biola track & field teams' throwers opened up the two-day Chris Rinne Twilight Invitational at the UC Riverside Track Facility.

Biola had athletes competing in the men's and women's hammer throws and men's javelin.

The Eagles' most entries were in the women's hammer throw where four Eagles took to the hammer circle.

Leah Gilmore led Biola with a seventh-place finish and a personal-best throw of 41.39m. Gilmore's previous best was 40.62m at the 2024 Ben Brown Invite. Faith Winningham was Biola's next-highest finisher. Winningham recorded a personal-best throw of 38.76m which placed her eighth of 11 individuals. Her previous best hammer throw was 38.76m at the 2024 Ben Brown Invite.

India Young and Jordyn Tipp finished ninth and 10th respectively. Young had a mark of 34.35m and Tipp's throw went 34.35m.

BU's men had two athletes participate in the javelin and one in the hammer throw.

Luke Hanson and Mark Sizelove represented Biola in the javelin and Nathan Wilson competed in the hammer throw.

Sizelove and Hanson achieved podium finishes in the javelin. Sizelove led BU in the event, finishing second of four athletes with a throw of 38.41m.

Hanson was third overall, his throw traveled a distance of 32.67m.

Wilson earned a solid mark in the hammer throw, recording a personal-best distance of 35.88. His previous best in the hammer throw was 34.89m at the 2024 PLNU Track & Field Invite.

Biola will continue the Chris Rinne Twilight meet tomorrow Saturday, Apr. 20. The Eagles are scheduled to begin at noon with the women's discus throw.
