The Biola women's golf team prevailed at the Mauna Lani North Course, emerging victorious as the 2024 PacWest Conference Champions.

WAIMEA, Hawai`i--- The Biola women's golf team prevailed at the Mauna Lani North Course, emerging victorious as the 2024 PacWest Conference Champions.

Biola led all three days. BU paced the field on Monday, scoring 318, two strokes better than ART U who was in second place. The Eagles cranked up the intensity in their second round on Tuesday, carding their lowest PacWest Championships single-round score in program history (297). BU's fantastic second round increased their lead over ART U to nine strokes.

The Eagles weren't done yet and were ready to compete in Wednesday's third round. Biola held their composure to record 308 in their third round which made them the PacWest Team Champions by six strokes.

Biola's combined three-round team score was 923, ART U rounded out second place (929) and Hawaii Hilo finished third (933).

Brady Turnquist led the Eagles to victory, finishing second on the leaderboard out of 35 individuals. Turnquist recorded seven-above-par in her three rounds (223) and her second-round score of 69 was the lowest round of the tournament. Additionally, the Senior led the field with 38 pars and had five birdies.

Turnquist trailed the tournament's medalist from HPU by three strokes.

Melanie Reyes, Theresa Shaw, Rachel Shaw and Karis Haltom also did their parts to help Biola win the championship.

Reyes had BU's second-best score, carding 13-above-par 229 which placed her T6 on the leaderboard. Reyes' lowest single round was her second round of 73. She also led her team with six birdies.

Theresa Shaw finished 10th overall, scoring 16-above-par 232. Rachel Shaw was next-best (+25, 241) and Karis Haltom rounded out the group (+31, 247).

Biola's triumph today is their second PacWest Conference Championship title in program history. The program's first was in the 2021-22 season at the Wigwam Golf Course in Arizona where they won with a three-round score of 928.

BU also punched their ticket to NCAA West Regional by earning the PacWest's automatic bid. The West Regional takes place May 6-8 in Stockton.
