Seniors Show Out on Senior Day

The women’s tennis team’s seniors showed out on their senior day, all recording wins in the Eagles’ 6-1 victory over Westmont College.

LA MIRADA---The Biola women's tennis team's seniors showed out on their senior day, all recording wins in the Eagles' 6-1 victory over Westmont College.

Brooke Fager, Colbeyshae Emery, Lilly McNeill and Gaby Carvajal were the Eagles' four seniors who were honored before their match. Carvajal has been unable to play this season due to an injury that happened in preseason but has been an important part of the Eagles' lineup for the past three years.

Fager, Emery and McNeill earned doubles and singles wins against the Warriors.

BU sweeped doubles. Nationally-ranked No. 11 Fager and Alexandria Mann recorded Biola's first doubles win 6-0 on the first court. Isabella Chavarria and Kailee Mazzeo finished next, winning 6-3 on the third court. Seniors McNeill and Emery solidified the doubles sweep with a 6-3 win on court three.

Fager had a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win on the third court to begin singles. Mann earned the Eagles' next triumph on the fourth court 6-0, 6-0.

McNeill clinched the match with her 6-3, 6-2 victory on the second court and then #43 Emery made the overall score 5-0 with her 6-2, 6-4 win on court 1.

Westmont then made their way on the scoreboard. Breanna Hiebert lost a three-set duel to Westmont's Liska Knight (4-6, 6-1, 6-10).

Isabella Chavarria earned Biola's final win on the fifth court, defeating her opponent 6-4, 6-1.

Next up for the women's tennis team is the PacWest Championships in Surprise, Arizona. The final seedings for the tournament will be announced Sunday, Apr. 14.
