Seventh Inning Rally Cut Short

The softball team’s seventh-inning rally was cut short in their 8-5 loss against CSUMB at the Otter Sports Complex.

SEASIDE, Calif.---The Biola softball team's seventh-inning rally was cut short in their 8-5 loss against CSUMB at the Otter Sports Complex.

Before the seventh inning, Biola was trailing Cal State Monterey Bay 8-2. The Eagles came together to rally back in the bottom of the seventh but would be ultimately held short by the Otters.

Kennadie Tsue singled to right field to get the inning started for Biola and then Alexa Medley walked which gave them runners on first and second. Abie Nowak came up next and clutched up with a triple down the first base line which scored Tsue and Medley.

Raylene Roybal then doubled to score Nowak which left Biola chasing by three runs.

However, the Otters would work their way out of the inning resulting in the Eagles' loss.

Roybal started the game in the circle for Biola and threw the first two innings. Kayla Bousquette came in to relieve in third and threw for the rest of the game. Both Roybal and Bousquette allowed the Otters five hits each. Cal State Monterey Bay scored five runs off of Roybal and then three runs off of Bousquette.

Biola will head back to La Mirada and play next on Friday, Mar. 29 at 12 p.m. against Chaminade.
