PEBBLE BEACH, Calif.---The Biola women's golf team concluded The Patriot Invitational eighth of 13 teams with a three-round team score of 931.

Biola competed against a tough field, which included three ranked squads by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The WGCA's nationally-ranked teams were No. 2 DBU, No. 16 Cal State San Marcos and No. 18 Midwestern.

DBU was the invitational's team champions with a three-round team score of 874. Cal State San Marcos finished second (900) and Cal State Monterey Bay wrapped up third (904).

Biola went toe-to-toe with nationally-ranked No. 18 Midwestern State who was just eight strokes ahead of BU in seventh place.

The Eagles also placed above the two other PacWest Conference teams in attendance, ART U (10th, 951) and Westmont College (12th, 979).

Brady Turnquist led Biola and breached the top 10 individuals in the field. Turnquist was tied for eighth with a three-round score of 224. Turnquist carded 78 in her third round. She also had two birdies in her third round, which made her tournament total seven.

Rachel Shaw was BU's next-best on the leaderboard and recorded Biola's lowest third round of 76. Shaw finished 23rd on the scoreboard with a three-round score of 231.

Following Shaw was Karis Haltom (T39, 238), Theresa Shaw (T42, 239), and Melanie Reyes (T51, 242). 

Laura Ortiz competed as an individual for Biola and tied for 48th overall. Shaw recorded 81, 78, 82 in her three rounds.

Up next for the women's golf team is the Desert Invite which begins Monday, Apr. 1 at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon.
