Biola Dominates

The women’s tennis team dominated with a 7-0 victory over Fresno Pacific.

LA MIRADA—The Biola women's tennis team dominated against Fresno Pacific, collecting a 7-0 victory over the Sunbirds at the Biola Tennis Center.

Biola began by taking the doubles point. Colbeyshae Emery and Lilly McNeill earned BU's first doubles win on the second court, defeating FPU's Elise Leik and Audrey Ouellet 6-0.

Brooke Fager and Alexandria Mann came through next for Biola with a 6-3 win on the first court over FPU's Nayuma Subba and Yume Ueoku.

The Eagles continued to thrive in singles where they won on all courts. 

Colbeyshae Emery nabbed BU's first victory on the first court. Emery took down FPU's Subba 6-0, 6-4 which put Biola up, 2-0.

The Eagles' followed with wins on courts four, six, two, five and three. Fager won 6-2, 6-2 on the fourth court, Isabella Chavarria 6-2, 6-2 on the sixth court, McNeill 6-4, 6-4 on the second court and Mann 7-5, 6-3 on the fifth court.

Kailee Mazzeo logged Biola's final victory on the third court. She won her first set over FPU's Leik in a tiebreak but then dropped the second set 3-6. The Freshman regrouped and came back in the third to beat FPU's Leik 10-7.

Biola plays next on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at CSULA.
