MONTEREY PARK, Calif. --- The four-day PCSC Championships kicked off on Wednesday at the East LA College Swim Stadium. The long distance 1000 freestyle began the swimming festivities and Biola did well to pick up major points. Relays added to the night as both teams remained amongst the thick of the competition.

The BU men capped off day one with 130 points and in second place, while the women nabbed 74 points for sixth place.

The first swimming event men's crown was won by Biola's Noah Hall in the 1000 free. The sophomore was dialed in and posted a time of 9:32.48 through the 20 lap race. Hall scored 32 points for the Biola squad and teammate Gavin Souttere only added to the total. The senior came in just .16 seconds off of Hall for a second place finish. The silver medal was earned through Souttere's career-best mark in the 1000 free at 9:32.64. Michael Maurer continued the string of success in the event with 16 points through an 11th place finish.

On the women's side, Jackie Mudd and Tessa Halleen picked up points in the 1000 free. Mudd claimed 15th place at 10:48.86, while Halleen touched at 10:52.69 for 19th place.

The Eagles continued to gain momentum in the 200 medley relay. The BU women grabbed second place with a group time of 1:43.99 for 56 points. The combination of Allison Yancey, Meghan Tolman, Emilee Elizondo, and Phoebe Munholland got the job done for silver.

The men earned third in the 200 medley relay behind Nathan Griffin, Tate Fitzgerald, Eli Houseman, and Caleb Hernandez. The group nabbed bronze with a time of 1:32.54, picking up 54 points for the team.

Biola aquatics will be back in action for preliminary swims on Thursday morning beginning at 9:30 am.
