Succeeding in the Classroom

The men's soccer team had six athletes named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators.

GREENWOOD, Ind.---The Biola men's soccer team had six athletes named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators.

To be eligible student-athletes must have been a starter or key reserve who played in 90 percent or started in 66 percent of their team's games with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. The athlete must also be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. 

Ethan Hardin, Tomislav Jozinovic, Brennan Furlan, Justin Eisenmann, Gijs van Schouten and Caleb Castaño represented Biola as Academic All-District selections.

Hardin has a 3.92 cumulative GPA in bible, theology and ministry. Hardin was a Second Team All-PacWest pick who led his team with 15 points and five assists. Hardin also scored five goals for Biola in 2024. He was also a PacWest Player of the Week. 

Jozinovic has a cumulative GPA of 3.76 in his bachelor's in computer science. The Senior Defender was a Second Team All-PacWest selection who led Biola with 1,602 minutes. The Senior was also able to contribute offensively, scoring two goals and two assists from the Eagles' backline. Additionally, Jozinovic was a PacWest Defender of the Week.

Furlan is majoring in psychology and has a cumulative GPA of 3.66. Furlan was a Third Team All-PacWest selection who totaled 10 points in 2024. He scored three goals and contributed four assists as a key part of BU's midfield. 

Eisenmann is ending his senior season with a 3.74 cumulative GPA in business administration. Eisenmann totaled four points in 2024 with one goal and two assists.

Van Schouten is majoring in business administration and has a cumulative GPA of 3.83. Van Schouten was Biola's starting goalkeeper who totaled 1,530 minutes from 17 matches. Van Schouten ended the year with a goals against average of 1.76, 57 saves, and a save percentage of .655.

Castaño has a 3.74 cumulative GPA in business administration. Castaño scored two goals for the Eagles in 2024. He ended the year with a shots on goal percentage of .500.

The Academic All-American team will be released on Tuesday, December 10.
