LA MIRADA---Theresa Shaw was recognized as the PacWest Conference Co-Golfer of the Week for her outstanding performance at the NCAA National Preview.
Shaw led Biola with a three-round score of -3 at the NCAA National Preview.Â
"It was great to see a sophomore lead the team by shooting three under after three rounds of golf," stated head coach Jane Carr. "Theresa was focused and calm out there. She has a deep faith and I believe that helps her when the pressure is on."
The Sophomore also achieved two career-best single rounds. Her first round of one-below-par 71 was a personal best until she surpassed it in her third round with a score of three-under-par 69.Â
"Today, I shot my best golf round yet while playing for Biola, and the feeling of happiness and gratitude is overwhelming," exclaimed Shaw. "Every swing felt solid and well struck, but it was my mental game that was sharper than ever."
Shaw continued, "I truly believe that it was God guiding me. I relied on my faith and prayer to keep me calm and patient, while using the tools I've practiced to let my muscle memory take over, as I visualized what was needed with each individual shot. I'm thankful for this experience and looking forward for more to come!"
Next up for Biola is the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate which begins on Monday, October 21st at The Village Course at Waikoloa.
