LA MIRADA---The Biola women's tennis team is excited to welcome four freshmen to their 2024 roster.

"We are very excited about this year's group of newcomers," stated head coach David Goodman. "The women's program brought in four freshmen girls. This group is extremely motivated and have high aspirations for the season. Last year we had a lot of injuries and struggled at times with depth in our lineup. These four will help us out tremendously and make a huge impact on our singles and doubles sign up."

Isabella Chavarria / Freshman / Mérida, Yucatán / Colegio Rialto
Chavarria graduated from Colegio Rialto High School in 2023. Her high school didn't have sports but she trained at the nationally-recognized TCP tennis academy.

Breanna Hiebert / Freshman / Bakersfield, Calif. / Bakersfield Christian
Hiebert joins Biola from Bakersfield Christian High School where played four seasons on varsity. Hiebert played first court singles and went undefeated in conference singles. 

Hiebert helped her team become four-time South Yosemite League Champions and was a four-time First Team All-Area selection. 

Kailee Mazzeo / Freshman / Long Beach, Calif. / Millikan
Mazzeo played three varsity seasons at Millikan High School and graduated with high honors in 2023. Mazzeo made varsity as a freshman and played first court singles her first year.

Mazzeo placed second in Moore League singles and doubles her freshman and sophomore years and won Rookie of the Year and team MVP. Additionally, she went undefeated in regular-season singles her sophomore year.

Alexis Romano / Freshman / Palmdale, Calif. / Academies of the Antelope Valley
Romano played two years of varsity at Highland High School. During her sophomore year she played first and second court singles and first court doubles. Romano reached the second round of CIF her sophomore year and was the first girl's player in program history to advance that far. 

Romano transferred to Academies of the Antelope Valley for her final two years of high school where she stopped playing high school tennis to focus on her career for USTA.
