IRVINE, Calif.---The PacWest Conference's preseason votes are in and the Biola men's soccer team was predicted to finish third this year by the conference's coaches and had two athletes named to the PacWest's preseason team.
Ahead of Biola in the PacWest Preseason Poll was No. 1 Dominican who had 109 points and five first place votes and No. 2 Point Loma who received 103 points and three first place votes. Biola, in third place, earned 100 points and was picked to finish first by three of the league's coaches.Â
The Eagles also had two Preseason All-PacWest picks which included Ethan Hardin and newcomer Quintin Benn-John.
Hardin was a 2022 Third Team All-PacWest selection who had the fourth-most minutes on the team as a freshman. Hardin played a key role in the Eagles' midfield and was highly offensive with four goals and three assists.Â
Benn-John, a junior forward, is a transfer from Butte College who scored 12 goals last season and 30 goals throughout his two seasons at Butte. Benn-John is a two-time all-conference selection and holds the record for career goals at Butte College.
The Eagles kick off the season on the road against Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.
