DALLAS, Tex.---Brady Turnquist polished off a successful outing at the NCAA Division II West Regional where she placed 23rd of 66 individuals.

Turnquist moved up five slots from her first round on Monday. The Junior ended her first round T28 (75) with six others and moved up to 23rd during her last two rounds at the Golf Club of Dallas on Tuesday.

Turnquist's most impressive round was her second round where she carded one-under-par 69. Turnquist recorded three-consecutive birdies in her second round which catapulted her forward on the leaderboard.

Turnquist wrapped up the West Regional with a third round score of 76 which made her tournament score 220. Turnquist recorded 37 pars throughout the West Regional tournament which was the fifth-most in the field.

This was Turnquist's highest finish yet at the NCAA DII West Regional. Last year, Turnquist finished T26 with a final score of 226 and saw a six-stroke improvement this year.

Turnquist was the third-best individual to finish behind Yuliana Yapur from Texas A&M International (T16, 217) and Arnie Taguines from Texas Permian Basin (T18, 218). Turnquist put up an incredible fight and was so close to advancing to the NCAA Championships. The top two individuals in the West Regional advance to the NCAA Championships and Turnquist was just two strokes behind Taguines who secured the second spot.

"I know the outcome today was very disappointing to Brady," commented head coach Jane Carr. "She sets high standards for herself and isn't ready for her season to end. I know she wanted to win, but I know sometimes the most learning comes when we don't."

Overall, it's been a great season for Turnquist. She was a First Team All-PacWest selection, broke a school record for the lowest individual single round with a personal best of six-under-par 65, was PacWest Player of the Week twice, advanced to West Regionals for the second time in her career, and led her team with five top three finishes. Her most recent top three finish was second place at the PacWest Championships in Litchfield, Arizona.
