GREENWOOD, Ind.---The Biola softball team had four athletes selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday. 

Jennifer Morinishi, Allie Beck, Maddie Riley, and Brie Nowak represented Biola on the CSC's academic team.

To be eligible student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve who played in at least 50 percent of their teams games with at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. Athletes also must have been at their institution for at least 12 months to be eligible, unless they are a graduate student. 

Morinishi was finishing up her master's degree this season and led the Eagles with 4.0 GPA in her public relations certificate in strategic communications. 

Morinishi, a fifth-year senior, played and started in all 53 games at center field. Morinishi batted .303 this season and received recognition as a Second Team All-PacWest outfielder.

Beck has a 3.98 in her bachelor's degree in communications. Beck batted .387 this season as a designated hitter for the Eagles and received Second Team All-PacWest for her impressive performances in the batter's box. 

Riley was also named to the CSC's Academic All-District team for her 3.92 GPA in communication sciences disorders. Riley played 45 games for Biola in the outfield where she had 23 putouts and a .960 fielding percentage. 

Nowak was the Eagles last CSC All-District selection. The Junior has a 3.6 GPA in her liberal studies multidisciplinary degree. Nowak was battling an injury this season, but still played in 40 of the Eagles contests as a key reserve. Nowak rotated between catching, being a designated hitter and pinch hitting for Biola. Nowak averaged .215 in the batter's box with 20 hits.

All-District selections will move on to the Academic All-America ballot. The CSC's Academic All-American team will be released on Tuesday, June 6.
