LOUISVILLE, Ky.---Colby McClinton was named First Team All-West Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

The Freshman was one of 204 athletes named to the NFCA's elite all-region teams. 

McClinton adds First Team All-Region shortstop to a growing list of achievements for the 2023 season. McClinton was also the PacWest Conference's Player and Freshman of the Year and a First Team All-PacWest selection. 

McClinton currently leads the PacWest in four major hitting categories including: batting average (.459), on base percentage (.543), on base plus slugging (1.142) and hits (72). McClinton is also a national statistical leader in batting average, ranking 25th-best in the nation.

McClinton will enter the ballot for the NFCA's All-America teams which will be announced on Wednesday, May 24 at the NCAA DII Championship banquet in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
