LITCHFIELD, Ariz.---The Biola women's golf team finished the last day of the 2023 PacWest Championships strong, digging deep in the last 18 holes to move all the way up to the third place.

The Eagles were in sixth place yesterday, but after recording the lowest team score in the third round with Point Loma (320) Biola shot up to third place.

Holy Names won the 2023 PacWest Championships with a team score of 949 and Point Loma slipped into second (955). Biola trailed PLNU by five strokes with a team score of 960.

HNU also had the PacWest's individual medalist Lavinia Romito who shot 77 in all three rounds to record 15-above-par 231 as her final score.

Brady Turnquist played a key role in Biola's team success, recording the lowest individual round of the field and her personal lowest round of the championships.

Turnquist shot three-above-par 75 which catapulted her up the leaderboard to be the championship's runner-up with ART U's Jae Eun Park who also totaled 232 over the championships three rounds. Turnquist scored 10 pars and four birdies in her final round.

Turnquist was also a tournament statistical leader, totaling a tournament-best of 34 pars throughout the championships 54 holes.

Rachel Shaw also worked her way up the leaderboard, moving seven slots up to 16th overall (244) with her third round score of 80. 

Melanie Reyes was just one stroke behind Shaw in her tournament score, recording 245 over the three rounds. Reyes matched her first round score of 82 in the third round which tied her for 17th overall.

Jessica Cornelius was the Eagles' next best in the final standings, tied for 24th with a 249 tournament final score. Emily Cons wrapped up the group, tied for 31st with a final score of 257.
