LA MIRADA---The Biola women's tennis team lost 5-2 to Fresno Pacific at the Biola Tennis Center but continue to show growth as they approach the PacWest Championships.

The last time the Eagles (6-11) faced the Sunbirds (10-7) was at the beginning of the season at the Haak Tennis Complex. Biola lost 6-1 to Fresno Pacific with their win coming from Gaby Carvajal in fifth-court singles.

Today, Biola took the doubles point and received a singles win from Lilly McNeill.

Colbeyshae Emery and Brooke Fager put Biola ahead in first court doubles, defeating PLNU's Audrey Ouellet and Lea Falentin 6-3. Alex Mann and Amelia Kitts came through next with a 6-4 win over PLNU's Sanne Brull and Daimy Paula to clinch the doubles point for BU.

Fresno Pacific pulled ahead of Biola with back-to-back wins on the first and sixth courts, but McNeill would tie up the match with a 6-4, 6-3 victory on the second court over FPU's Nayuma Subba.

However, Fresno Pacific would reclaim the lead with four-consecutive wins on the fourth, third and fifth courts.

Mann, Fager, and Carvajal had competitive battles on their respective courts that included one tiebreaker set each. Mann lost 4-6, 64-77, Fager lost 64, 77, 3-6 and Carvajal fell 64-77, 4-6 in the Eagles 5-2 loss.

Next up for Biola is the PacWest Tennis Championships which begins on Wednesday, Apr. 19 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Club in Surprise, Arizona.
