PEBBLE BEACH, Calif.--- The Biola women's golf team finished the final round of the Patriot Invitational, fighting through rain and strong winds at the Poppy Hills Golf Club.

Biola continued the fight against a tough group of competitors, facing four nationally-ranked teams and two teams who are receiving votes from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The four nationally-ranked teams were No. 2 Dallas Baptist University, No. 10 Cal State San Marcos, No. 15 Cal State Monterey Bay and tied for No. 18 Point Loma. Cal State East Bay and Cal State LA are the universities who are currently receiving votes. 

The inclement weather affected most teams at the invitational, only three of the 15 teams in attendance improved their team scores from their previous rounds. 

Biola achieved a team score of 320 in their third round which made their final score 942 and placed them 10th of the 15 teams.

The weather had nothing on Rachel Shaw who recorded the best score of the field in the third round and her best score of the invite. Shaw carded 72-par which moved her up 28 slots on the leaderboard to T28.

Brady Turnquist was the Eagles' next best finisher who recorded a third round score of 81 which brought her down to tied for 31st. Behind Turnquist was Melanie Reyes (T47, 82), Emily Cons (T50, 85) and Jessica Cornelius (T55, 90).

As a team, BU moved down to 10th place. CSU Monterey Bay came up from behind to edge Biola by one stroke in the final round. The Otters had a combined team score of 941 which gave them the solo possession of ninth place. 

Dartmouth College was the team Champions of the invitational with a combined team score of 886. Behind Dartmouth was DBU in second (889), Cal State East Bay in third (892), Cal State San Marcos in fourth (896), Point Loma in fifth (913), Emory University in sixth (916), Cal State LA in seventh (928) and Holy Names in eighth (936).

Mailinh Vu was Biola's individualist who recorded 92 in her third round which placed her 75th overall. 

The Eagles will head home and prepare for their next competition which begins Friday, Mar. 31 at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Arizona.
