IRVINE, Calif.--- Raylene Roybal earned this week's PacWest Pitcher of the Week for her outing last Monday, Feb. 13 against Cal State University San Bernardino.

Roybal threw seven complete innings against the Yotes where she only allowed six hits and one run to score in the Eagles' 3-1 victory.

Roybal tossed four strikeouts, one of which was a crucial momentum-crusher in the sixth inning. CSUSB created a rally in the top of the sixth with back-to-back hits that gave them runners on first and second with no outs. 

With the go-ahead run up to bat, Roybal came back strong by striking out the next batter which broke up the Yotes' excitement and gave BU one out. Roybal maintained her composure and successfully caught the next batter off balance, forcing them to roll over and send a grounder Colbey McClinton's way that would be efficiently converted into a huge double play to end the inning.

Roybal improved to 4-1 for the season with Biola's first-game win on Monday. 

The Eagles are set to travel to Hawai'i where they will begin PacWest Conference play. Biola starts with Chaminade on Friday, Feb. 24 at 2 and 4 p.m. PT at the Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park.
