IRVINE, Calif. --- The BU men's cross country team recorded a great 2023 campaign with strong finishes across the season. A second place finish at conference and a seventh place showing at regionals was followed by the conference postseason awards, honoring Melt von Molendorff as Freshman of the Year.

The BU rookie took advantage of his first year on the course, tallying three top-21 finishes. Von Molendorff was Biola's second runner at the PacWest Championships in 14th place, earning a Second Team All-PacWest distinction. The Cape Town, South Africa native delivered his season best time of 24:54.1 at the Master's Invitational in the 8k race.

A trio of Eagles including Von Molendorff earned All-PacWest recognition for their top-21 placements at the conference meet. Jerry Baltzer won the race and was crowned PacWest Individual Champion alongside his First Team All-PacWest honor. Von Molendorff earned Second Team status in 14th place, while Aidan Arredondo slipped into the Third Team All-PacWest tier in 21st place.
