The women’s basketball team maintained their composure and leveled up against Simon Fraser in their 69-63 victory at West Gym.

BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada—With the game on the line, the Biola women's basketball team held their composure and leveled up against Simon Fraser in their 69-63 victory at West Gym.

The fourth quarter was too close for comfort. Biola kept the lead throughout but Simon Fraser would get within a possession's reach nine times, three of which were in the last 19 seconds.

With 19 seconds remaining, Biola led Simon Fraser by six points (63-57) but the Red Leafs would make it a three-point game in the next three seconds (63-60). The Eagles held their ground and answered back when the Red Leafs were forced to send BU to the free throw line.

With 13 seconds remaining, Kaylen Kamelamela went 2-for-2 at the charity stripe which would be important later as she widened Biola's lead to 65-60. Three seconds later, the Red Leafs landed another three-point shot that brought the game back to a basket (65-63).

With time running out, SFU was forced to send Biola to the free throw line again which would result in two made free throws by Laila Walker. Biola was then four points ahead with five seconds on the clock (67-63).

Simon Fraser ran out of three's in their next possession and fouled Biola again with a tenth of a second remaining. Jessa Thurman downed her two free throws and the clock ran out in the Eagles 69-63 win.

Biola improved 4-3 overall while snapping Simon Fraser's seven-game winning streak to 7-4 overall.

The Eagles continue their road trip to Western Washington who they play on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.
