LA MIRADA --- Biola swimming and diving put together a great weekend, defeating the Sunbirds on both the men's and women's side. The Eagles saw strong performances in the dive portion of the meet, as Lorelai Carney and Sebastian Burgos were named last week's PCSC Divers of the Week.

Carney offered a performance for the record books with her showing in the 3mtr dive. In her second year at Biola, Carney broke the school record for six dives on 3mtr with a score of 255.85. The score was good for first place on Saturday and beat the record of current teammate Abby DePina. 

She went on to add another event crown, winning in the 1mtr dive, posting a score of 233.30.

Burgos reflected strong consistency with a mark of 188.55 on the 3mtr and 1mtr boards. The freshman has fought through injuries in 2023 but was able to finish second on both dives and currently has the second best score in the conference for the 1mtr.

Biola aquatics will be back in action at the Caltech/Oxy meet set for Saturday.
